I guess this is just a life update?
So far I have a 3.0 GPA and I've completed half of the required courses needed for the Biology AS degree since starting community college in 2023. Organic Chemistry and Calculus are all I have left, which means at least another 2 years here. I wish I could take more than one 5 credit class at a time, but the work load not including class time is an easy 15-20 hrs a week, per course. Which uh. Definitely isn't possible for me while working full-time. Fucking bless my partner for being so supportive as I go through this, honestly. A semester means 4 months of long nights buried in homework, stressing tf out and having to listen to me ramble on about things like how hyena penises work and the particular smell of a pig dissection that isn't unlike cured pork.
Thanks to my commissioners, I think I can work freelance full time without worrying about balancing another job. Which makes a huge difference and allows me to focus on schooling and enjoying art. It would be a huge failing on my part if I was forced to retake a class - it's not a pride thing, just a mistake I can't afford, financially.
I'm still on the hunt for suitable Phd programs to apply for once I have the AS secured. No one has really told me I can't apply for a biological research Phd with a BA in Art as a background, but the self doubt can be crippling sometimes even when surrounded by encouragement.
Creative projects
In my scraps of free time I'm working on a baseball centric furry comic that I'm really excited about! I doubt I'll post any pages until I have a good few put together, but I will definitely post any vis dev I end up doing or sneak peaks if you're into that kinda thing.
A site announcement
Starting next month I'm going to be hosting a commission giveaway you can enter right here on this site (I'll provide a form accessible on the home page). The slot itself will be for a standard color full-body, or at least that's the plan. I'll update with more details soon.
